We all know that Thanksgiving is time for family and gratitude, but we also know that we LOVE to eat and that food is important too! Some of my favorite parts of the holidays are recipes that have been passed down as family traditions. I want to share a few of my favorites with you, including my top gluten-free Thanksgiving options!
At the top of my Thanksgiving favorites list:
Turkey – NO DUH.
Party Potatoes – I make my own gluten-free cream of chicken soup.
Green Bean Bundles – I buy fresh green beans and simmer them for about 30 minutes before I make the bundles.
Gluten-Free Dressing – Over the year, I freeze leftover biscuits, bread, cornbread. Basically a hodgepodge, but it makes for the BEST dressing.
Homemade Cranberry Sauce – Not that shit in a can!
7 Layer Salad – I’m not a fan of peas, but for some reason, I live for them in this salad.
Sweet Potato Casserole – Andrew drools over Ruth’s Cris’ recipe, so I substitute the flour with gluten-free flour so I can have some too.
Pecan Pie – I usually order these from a local gluten-free bakery. Although I have gotten better over the years… everyone knows I am not a baker, but one hell of a cook.
Rhodes Rolls – I can’t eat these, but love making them and hearing family and friends talk about how tasty they are. Yeah, I’m aware that’s weird.
CRANBERRY ALMOND CHEESE BALL – I LIVE for a cheese ball, just ask any of my friends. This is my favorite pre-game appetizer before the big meal!
