GULP. Full disclosure, this photoshoot and post were extremely difficult for me… but it’s life and it’s real so here goes. Body insecurities, we all deal with that dreaded issue. It doesn’t matter what size or shape you are, there is something you look in the mirror and criticize. Even the most beautiful women in the world see their “faults”… I go back and forth on what side of the fence I want to be on. Do I want to say “screw it” and live my life, eat and do whatever the hell I see fit? Or, try to live in a perfect little box of health?
I’m not going to lie, I have been on both sides of the fence. It usually depends on my mood, ha! But after going through years of major health issues and finally being diagnosed with a major gluten intolerance I know my body VERY well. Then when you add having a baby… its a whole other world. After all these physical experiences my goal is to just be the BEST version of myself.
Who am I? I am 5’1″ and 92 lbs… yeah, you read that right. Over the years I have beat myself up about looking in the mirror and not being happy with myself. Why? Because I am tiny and tiny people shouldn’t complain. I should be grateful to be this little. Let me ask you this.. have you ever been underweight? Have you been so thin you were drinking two weight-gain shakes a day? Probably not, but maybe you have almost starved yourself, ran your ass off and been extremely self-conscience of the weight you have gained.
It’s all the same… underweight, overweight, cellulite, sun spots, saggy boobs, we all deal with body insecurities. There is something negative that the mirror tells us is wrong every day, but it’s up to us to change it. Are you pushing yourself to be the best version of you? Just eat a little healthier, but still enjoy a piece of pie this weekend that Aunt Tooter brings to the barbecue. Go buy a few pieces for your closet that will bring new energy to your mornings. Each of us has an asset that we love, so SHOW IT OFF!
So this photoshoot is dedicated to all you gorgeous people out there with your own body insecurities. I am totally stepping out of my comfort zone, bearing my mommy tummy and owning who I am at this very moment. I am exercising every day to gain more strength, trying to eat things that enhance my quality of life and trying to live with positive energy each day. That is the best version of me. So who are you? Go do you, but do it GREAT.

Great post! I really enjoyed the way you presented your own insecurities while being on the “other side” women seem to fantasize. Many may not understand and even criticize, but I can totally see it.
