Quality over quantity. The older I get the more and more I follow this motto in everything I do. I’ve posted on this topic before and will continue to add more content within this genre because it’s something I really believe in. Today, I’m styling an investment piece 3 ways.
Quality pieces over quantity. That doesn’t necessarily mean they have to be expensive; these can be pieces that you just love. You are going to go back to the pieces in your closet that, regardless of the trends you want to wear repeatedly. They make you feel good, and they make you look even better.
A lot of times I will find a pair of shoes or a handbag (these are the type of items I typically invest in) and I initially won’t have any idea how I’m going to style the piece! But I purchase the pair of shoes and it brings on a whole new wave of creativity to see how I can style those shoes multiple ways… because I’m obsessed with them.
Want my opinion? Stop buying 12 colors in a $12 on sale t-shirt and instead, invest in a well-made cool designer tee. That piece will hang in your closet a lot longer. Same with a pair of shoes, a handbag or a statement top.
I had my eye on these sneakers, saved and then took the plunge. I was determined to be able to wear them at the office, for summer get-togethers and travel. You CAN dress up sneakers. Say it out loud… you can dress up sneakers. I suggest getting a versatile pair that will last through several seasons. Don’t over think it – Metallic, neutrals, leopard, and sneakers with pops of color are a great way to add that “effortless” chic to any outfit.
I’m going to say it for the 100th time. It’s okay to wear an outfit or item more than once.
Just change up the styling.
Now, here’s the bigger question, which outfit paired with these sneakers do you like the most?
Just do you,
Dru
